How to Use jobsiteinspection.com
A step-by-step guide to running safety inspections, managing checklists, and tracking corrective actions.
Getting started
After signing up, you'll land on the Dashboard. From there you can create your first inspection or view recent activity. Add your team under Settings if you want others to run inspections.
Dashboard
The dashboard shows key stats: total inspections, compliant count, needs action, and open corrective actions. If any inspection is marked Critical, an alert appears at the top. Recent inspections are listed — click any row to open that inspection.
Use + New Inspection to start a new inspection from scratch.
Inspections
The Inspections page lists all your inspections. Search by location name to find a specific site. Each row shows location, status badge (In Progress, Compliant, Needs Action, Critical), address, date, and inspector.
Click an inspection to open its detail view. From the detail view you'll use three tabs: Checklist, Actions, and Info.
Checklist
The Checklist tab groups items by category (Fall Protection, PPE, Scaffolding, Electrical, etc.). For each item, mark:
- Pass — item meets requirements
- Fail — item does not meet requirements; add finding notes
- N/A — not applicable to this site
When you mark an item as Fail, you can add finding notes to describe the issue. Use the Add Checklist Item form at the bottom to add custom items. Choose a category and severity (if it's a fail).
Corrective actions
The Actions tab lists corrective actions for the inspection. When checklist items fail, create a corrective action: describe what needs to be done, assign a responsible person, and set a due date.
Actions can be Open, In Progress, or Closed. Use the Close button when the fix is complete. The tab header shows how many actions are still open.
Inspection info
The Info tab lets you edit the inspection details: location name, address, date, inspector name, overall status (In Progress, Compliant, Needs Action, Critical), and notes. Click Save Changes to update. You can also delete the inspection from this tab.
Tips
- Run inspections when work is active so you see real conditions.
- Add finding notes on failed items — specifics help assign and fix corrective actions.
- Assign corrective actions before leaving the site so they don't fall through the cracks.
- Use the mobile app (add to home screen) to inspect from the field.
